FortisBC’s energy assessment program plays an important role in increasing energy efficiency in British Columbia.

Here at BES, our experts provide the initial steps to building owners to save energy and money. This means owners can stay up to date with the Clean BC roadmap to 2030 without worrying about the costs.

Free Energy Assessment
for Rental Apartments & Accommodations

We understand that upkeep charges for large rental buildings can add up, which is why we’re offering a free energy assessment for eligible buildings.

BES are the only FortisBC authorized and trusted consultant who can conduct a free energy assessment for rental apartments and accommodation properties.

Property owners and managers of eligible buildings who receive an energy assessment can also receive additional benefits. This includes cost-saving measures, and free energy-efficient products installed directly into rental units.

What is an Energy Assessment?

An energy assessment or energy audit is the analysis of energy consumption within a building.

Our specialist team will be able to inspect your building and mechanical equipment and identify the areas that use the most energy. They then recommend energy-saving methods that can be put in place moving forward.

The type of assessment our team conducts is a Level 1 Audit. This includes estimated costs for energy efficiency measures, along with the identification of any larger projects.

Our clients have found that the level 1 audits provide such helpful insight aiding their sustainability journey that it opens the door to further assessments being requested.

If you find yourself wanting to learn more about beyond the level 1 audit, BES can provide you with further options. Just contact us to find out more.

Why Should I Get an Energy Assessment?

As part of the energy efficiency program for rental apartments and accommodations, you can be eligible for the free installation of energy and water-saving products in your rental buildings.  This can include:

  • A water-efficient showerhead

  • Kitchen and bathroom faucet aerators

  • DHW Recirculation Pump Controls

  • Pipework Thermal Insulation

  • Door Seals

As well as the free products and installation, you can learn more about the additional opportunities and rebates offered as part of the assessment results and program.
